How many have ~400RWHP and still have the stock 4L60E?
I know the 4L60E is rated at 450HP, which is about 380 at the wheels, assuming 15% drivetrain loss. I plan to get a 12-bolt before I get heads/cam, but I don't know if I'll have the money to upgrade the trans just yet (although that is in the future ).
Is anyone here running the stock 4L60E with ~400 rwhp? If so, how long has it lasted? Or is the 450HP rating rearwheel and not crank?

I'm about to. I'm running 370/380 now and have a bigger stall (4000) and Stage II heads going in soon. I have Ed Wright programming and am shifting at 6600-6700 with extra line pressure at WOT. No problems so far but I know I'll be pushing it after the heads go on.

400 rwhp and much more on spray... totally stock tranny... 6000miles in 4 months...
My trick you ask? keep the tranny temps below 180!!!! b&m pan for extra 3 quarts, and a big *** cooler, slp fan switch... i keep my tranny near 170 degrees... and i beat the hell out of it... just do frequent fuild changes..

IS the B&M pan really worth it? I'm only using a Vig2800 converter and I'll probably only be running it hard once in a while.
It's just that if I have to choose between a built tranny and a built rear, I'd rather go with the rear (changing out the 2.73 for 3.42 too ). This is my DD, though, so I don't want the tranny taking a crap because I didn't do things right the first time.
Of course, an FLP Level IV will be going in there before I do anything BEYOND heads/cam.

27,093 miles and no more 3rd or 4th !
6 passes on the 150 shot didn't help though I'm sure !
Never mind the 23 10 pound bottles of juice I used on the 75 shot to date !

FLP wouldn't be in business if that were the case. Getting a 12 bolt will make that tranny the weak link alright. Your first hard launch could be the last.
