Default 2-3 WOT Flare

Sometimes I'm getting a 2-3 WOT Flare. Anyone know the causes of these and a fix. Thanks.

A 2-3 flare or rev bump happens when the band releases before the 3-4 pack can engage , They are supposed to nesarly overlap else during the shift you will get a momentary nuetral like feeling actually its a return to first,
This could be caused by a sticky check ball if its intermintant , other possibilities are excesive 3-4 clutch clearance. But basically you need to find a way to either turn the 3-4 clutch on faster or slow the release of the band, This was a very comon problem with the 700R4 but you dont here about it much with the 4L60E do you know what shift kit if any was used in your build?

It was a custom shift kit with a new plate pre-drilled. A bigger boost valve was put in along with a stiffer 1-2 spring.

Rich wanted to go in and drill the hole out bigger. How big can you go on the hole before you get adverse effects?

Well the 3-4 apply you can go very big but what Im afraid of is the 3rd acum hole is already to big , That will cause the flare shift you are speaking of since the 3rd acumm is the back side of the servo and its what turns the band off.
