The car: 1987 Iroc-Z 5.7 TPI. My buddy spun a bearing and just got done rebuilding the motor. We have a Chilton's manual and we can't find a fluid capacity for the th700-r4???? The trans is completely empty and the converter was completely drained too. I thought the 700 held 12 quarts with the converter empty, anyone know for sure? We are putting the motor/trans back in today and I need to know! Anyone know FOR SURE?

 

If it's totally empty, start with 10 quarts. Once you get it running and warmed up, check the level (in park). You may need to add (up to) the other 2 quarts. You're "guess" is pretty good and you're well on the way. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
