Default installing TCI controller for 4L80E swap, will there be SES lights?

i am gathering parts for my 4L80e swap, and i was reading about the TCI controller.... is anyone running it? if the trans is connected and controlled by the stand alone cpu, is the stock pcm gonna freak out?

i was wondering if my pcm will throw any codes because it will not be connected to the trans anymore. am i gonna still need some tuning? anyone else have issues?

I heard you have to set the PCM to a manual trans

I am running it but not in an F-bod, so I can't speak to the stock code issue. You will be able to drive quite well with the base TCI 80E tune, but it really comes alive when you start playing around with it.

Send me a PM and I'll send you my setup file.

well i mainly need to know if this thing will be driveable after unplugging the old trans from the pcm, and hooking up the new one to the tci controller. You would think the pcm would freak out if it wasnt detecting a trans....

I got to ask...why would you not adapt the stock VCM to control the 4L80E?
They sell the harnesses for cheap. Then tune it in with your choice of tuning device.

well i was thinking of going that route, but the nearest tuner to me is a 4 hour drive... which is not very convenient.

i was thinking of just buying HP tuners and doing that, but i figured it would be easier to just plug everything in to the tci controller and bypass the pcm altogether. as i was reading about the tci, this issue came up so now i have a dillemma!

With HP you can use a stock M6 file 02 OS and flash the pcm over to M6.
