I must have special stock tranny, at least from the way you guy's talk about them. i make 408rwhp and run consistant 11.6's. Now I'm throwing an extra 1-2 hundred rwhp at it with the d1-sc but I don't plan on it lasting much longer with that kind of abuse. I think it's all about how you drive, how you maintain and of course a little luck. I never roll race, down shift's are killer on these trannys. I've alway's gotten it tuned after modifications, driving with the tune off can hurt it I'm sure. I alway's check the fluids before hard driving. I have the large truck tranny cooler to stay away from heat and I also watch the trans temp. If it ever gets past 180 I pull over and let it cool, heat is what kills them the fastest. If you take care of them well, they can take a beating. If not, then people ruin them at stock hp levels.

I just noticed you are in VA beach... there's a shop down there that does some pretty good builds. I cant remember the name off the top of my head though... a buddy of mine had his built for his truck a couple years ago.

Agreed, those things are junk. Soon as they leave the line you can kiss it good bye.
