4L60e Fluid Capacity?
4L60e Fluid Capacity? Having hell with a leak from VSS, tried to replace o-ring, o-ring not even there when I pulled the VSS out of the case, figured that was the prob.....had troubles getting o-ring to sit flush...nowhere for it rest, no idention in case, nowhere for it to sit on the VSS and "seal" against the case, said **** it...put it back on without, refilled, maybe too much.....leaking worse now
**** IT, changing filter and gasket 2morrow....whats the capacity of the 4L60e??
if it still leaks after this, Im, first off, kicking the car and throwing tennis ***** at it....then putting in a TH350 and giving up on the son of a bitch.

If you drop the Pan it will take about 6 quarts..just put in 5 and check it from there.

don't know the torque spec on the pan bolts by any chance do ya?? repair manual shows 96-120 lb. ft. and thats its....

by the way - let me know if you used any special tricks to get that trans filter's seal out. I Just tried to do mine this evening and darkness caught me but with a light down there I couldn't get *#@# little sealing ring off the old filter housing... Hanes manual says 'use a screw driver to get out the old seal' but mine's not cooperating.. Let me know how yours went!
meh, decided not to do it. redid the VSS o-ring, and she puked enough fluid to get it at the right level. No drain plugged *** 4L60e...gawd i want TH350!!
I had more **** to tend to, so I decided to hold off on the gasket/filter change. Hopefully the tranny will be out soon, for a verter swap. So, the gasket/filter stuff can wait till then! lol

cool.
well i found another post asking how to remove it and i used a trick someone mentioned of lightly beating on the edge of the seal with a screwdriver and hammer.
Doing this caused the edge of the thing to kink in enough for me to rotate it with the screwdriver (rotate as in make a walll of the cylinder seal face down towards the street).
Then I plucked it out.
