When you say from drum are you refering to the steel reverse input drum or the aluminum input drum , In any case the cause is probably just a hard parts failure they do happen and sometimes its not so easy to give a precise reason why. But when either of thouse two drums come apart they generally do alot of damage . Do you have any pics of what broke ?

I think you mean the teeth that hold the 3-4 clutch snap ring , This can be caused by several things , Excessive line presure, excessive 3-4 clutch clearance. Or just a weak area in the drum. I have seen it alot after a shift kit install in a stock trans with high clutch clearances and a few times after the presures were raised way up in the tuning in and attempt to get a shift kit like feel without the kit

Verdad Gallardo As far as Im aware they dont make a stonger one but the drum there is plently strong enough , Just the clearances need to be correct on the 3-4 clutch and the factory clearance spec is not correct for performance use with shift kits , And as we tell all our customers leave the line presure part of the tuning software alone, These parts are designed to take X about of PSI a certain part of the time and not alot more all the time.
Increasing the feed size to the clutch is a better way to get a firmer apply , While you can do it by raising the presure the end result is not the same , Though it will increase volume like drilling the feeds it will also increase stress on parts once the final apply is made. Where simply enlarging the feed will result in quicker application which is desired the final presure on the snap rings and pistons remains the same as if the feeds had not been enlarged.
Now before anyone hollers. no a small increase in line is not going to be a problem , But I have noted many people max these settings out in and attempt to get a shift kit feel without the shift kit and thats just not the right way to do it.
