Well we have to date never had a converter that anyone calls to loose. our normal str is under 2.0 and typically 1.69 and average efficency is 96 percent on the top . However no we wouldnt give 75 dollars back , since we would be unable to use any of the parts since as it says the converters are all new nothing reused, We have had two that stalled lower than expected we simply swapped out with the customer, They didnt have to send it back for a restall , We sent they swapped and we sent a label for the return. No cost to them at all. From our side. These units when there are a few available will be rated according to the recorded stall inspected and sold as good used at some point in the future. But with only two not worth the hassel to set up a place for them on the site yet
As for the stall our converter will stall in the range requested if it dosent then we replace it, But now if the customer were to order a stall that was to high or low for there application in that case we would have to charge a fee and shipping for the restall. As for the stators and turbines without a price sheet from sonnax I couldnt tell you what the diffeences in our cost are and since thats not my department I dont get to see those. I can only say what I was told the reason was.

edit: also wondering what the "str" is and what "str" number i would want for my car, or what str is the vig 3200?

Here you go. This is from a converter builder who really knows what they are talking about:
