What do you think

i would go with either a yank or a vigilante 3600. they're the two top brands. Yank doesn't deal through shops anymore, so you'll have to order directly through them.

Vigilante you can get through multiple vendors on the site.

my prefrence, especially if you're in the midwest - is go Vigilante and order through Speedinc.

+1....I had a Yank 3500 and then upgraded to the SS4000 and love it. There was really no difference at all between the two for daily driving. The difference was all at WOT. I have 3.23's and I think it's plenty tight. With your 3.73's, it'd be the penultimate DD converter IMO!

There are those who will tell you that 3500+ are too big, but I'd be willing to bet the majority of them have never driven a bigger stalled car. My next converter will be a PT4400 with 3.73's .

I went from a TT2800 to the PT4000 and I never looked back since. I should have went with the PT4400 from the beginning.

How well does the 10 bolt rear handle the 4000 stall?

I have yet to have an issue and I know of a few other higher stalled cars that haven't had a single 10 bolt issue yet.

if you go with the 3200, you'll wish you went higher later. I wish I would have started with at least 4k.

Fuddle 3400. Good for street and strip combo. Still runnin stock gears with mods in sig. Before the cam and new tranny I went from 12.99 to 12.65 with the 3400. DON'T forget some sticky ones or this may happen:

99predator hit it on the head when he said you plan your stall for your future mods. I initially wanted a 2800 but after talkin to John at Fuddle racing and discussing plansI went with a 3400 and am so glad I did. This is my DD that I love.

I spoke to precision industies today about getting a 3600 Vigilante he is doing his best to talk me into a 3200. He says I won't be happy with the way it drives on the street even though I told him I'm willing to live with some compromises to go fast. Most people say 3500-3600 is the way to go including my local LS1 building hero shop that will be doing my tranny/tune. I'm now a little confused since the manufacturer is advising me not to go higher than 3200.

i think that is becuase vigilante's advertised stall is lower than experienced stall... i'm not for sure though.

i would definately go w/ a 3500 or bigger (see sig.. i love the converter).

yeah the Vig converters will flash at a higher RPM than they are rated on LS1's. my 3600 wflashes at around 4 grand on Et drags and I drive it daily in all weather as its moy only car and would not have it any other way.

nawwww.. haha, but I still think that the yank 3600 great stall for a DD, at least the 3200. I also have driven the ss3600 on a stock z28 too and it felt great.
