Default matching cam with converter

ok well im most likely going to buy this cam

specs: 98-02 Comp Cams Xtreme RPM High Lift Hydraulic Roller Cam, 228/230 duration with .571/.573 lift and 112 LS. High RPM Street/Strip cam for use with LS6 or aftermarket intake. Requires computer modifications. 2000-6800 RPM operating range.

will this cam match up good with the stall? my friend who is selling it to me told me he started making power very high, wouldnt i want a cam to make power at around 4k rpms? can someone explain the importance of matching a cam with a converter?

Should work fine with the stall in your sig. What is the gear ratio?

Well the cam / converter package should work just fine. What is going to become necessary to achieve a better low to midrange powerband is a gear change. By having the 3600 rpm stall converter you will be well into the engines ability to make power... however the seat of the pants, woohoo ain't this great feeling will not reach it's potential until you gear up! For the time being in your car the limiting factor is going to be gear ratio.

Get a 3:72 or 4:10 gear set and then you'll be able to realize the full potential of your cam / converter package.

It should work fine, but to be completely optimal, we'd need to see a dyno chart on the cam.

I've been considering a cam that size for my car (3:23 also) but haven't really looked into it very hard yet because I still have to get my QTP LT's on, so if you do go with it post up the #'s you made and how you like it. Thanks!
