Recently I installed a built tranny from a vendor with a pretty positive reputation. It has been good except for one little issue. It has a moaning or whinning noise similar to a power steering pump low on fluid in decel or very light cruise.

The sound started with the tranny swap, the line pressure is stock, the temperature is a touch higher than stock but I believe this is due to the 3000 percision industries converter that went in with the transmission. They are only 180F at the most.

Does anyone have any ideas? like I said on a decel or slight cruise it makes a moaning/ whinning noise. Its really quite in fact I'm usually the only one who notices it but it drives me crazy.


Oh, fluid is still clean and smells ok.

 

Could be a planet whining , about would have to be on decel like that .Of course a rear end will do that to but you said it wasnt doing it before.
