Default so far not impressed with vig 3200.

i just came back from the track and my best time was 13.0 1.9 60ft. cant remember the mph. it was hot out there today, and last week the best i could muster was 12.7. the vig 3200 just replaced my ssf 3500. the best i did with the ssf 3500 was 12.4, but ran consisitent 12.5's and 108-109mph 1.7 60'. the vig so far has not come close in my opinion, it was much hyped and recommended, and so far not worth the extra cash it costs. maybe i just been having some bad weeks with it, i dont know. i just need to vent. i should have gone with a yank ss3600.

It's always a bummer to make a major expenditure and not see much result. But don't get too bummed just yet - be patient. You must carefully record and compare the DA's on your runs if you're going to compare apples to apples. For example, an increase in temperature from 70 to 80 will typically cost me about a tenth, depending on humidity, barometric pressure, etc.

That sucks. I was about to call to order a Vig 3200 because of everyone talking about it being more like a 3600. I like Yank, but the price is as high as the temp in California. I'm going to hold off on that call. I hope you do better the next time you go to the track.

Where are you getting such a good deal on the VIG, last I checked Yank's SS series converters are right at the same price as the VIGs plus there always running free Trans cooler specials with their converters.

I was gonna go with the VIG 3200 but about 2 weeks b4 ordering my converter I changed to the Yank3600ss,heard a few things that changed my mind to the yank and so far Im pretty happy with the fell around town and the performance. If its hot and humid now in Cali and you ran the TCI in the winter months thats prob why ur a few tenths slower, dont think the 60ft should suffer that bad unless ur not hooking?

from the looks of the 60ft time, your spinning. try some e/t streets. when i first got my vig3200 and went to the track, i was pissed, i droped .02 and lost 2mph. it was bad weather and i was spinning pretty good. in better weather and with e/t's it dropped to 12.36-12.38 and mph picked up 2.

I'm not particularly pleased with my vig either.
I changed from a TCI 4000 to a vig 3800 and it feels a lot tighter and the car feels slower. I did swap trannies & added a bunch of weight at the same time though. No track times to back it up either, just SOTP.

i do agree there, the car feels tighter but it does not feel slower on the street, but the track results are not showing that right now. maybe with some new dr's and good weather i might get back to where i was.
