TH400 + 67 LS1 TT Nova which ratio

TH400 + 67 LS1 TT Nova which ratio I am building an 67 Nova with an LS1 that is going to be equipped with two turbo's and my goal is between 750-800hp. And i will go with rather small turbo's in order to have boost from as low rpm as possible. I would have liked to have an 4l80e in order to have the OD but the price on this compared to the price of an TH400 biuld to handle 800hp makes me settle for the TH400. But my car is going to see both street and strip, therefore my thought was to make up for the OD by getting a high ratio for my 9". With an 2.75 ratio it will be very streetable i guess. But can i with the right converter get it of the line in an dragrace or will the high ratio make it very slow? I guess the 2 turbo's with boost from down low should get it going or what? Which converter should i aim for? And should i rather aim for an 3.50 ratio or one in between?

I would say a TH400 on a brake off the line with a mid 3.xx gear would get you what you are looking for, and still have good street manners. The converter should be fairly tight in order to allow low end spooling, something in the 2,800 to 3,400 rpm range should suit your needs in my opinion.

Thanks alot for the answers. I think i will go for something around 3.27 then. Any suggestions on the size of the turbo's in order to have boost as early as possible and still deliver 800hp? Or should i give the same question in the forced induction section instead?
