HELP Tranny cooler lines leaking-cause transmission to slip?
a freinds 2004 chevy 2500hd
the transcooler lines started to leak bad. truck was driven home 2 miles then sat. checked transmission fluid level. it was fine
then he changed oil pan gasket cause thats what he thought it was.
it still elaked. he put to much tranny fluid in it test drove it around block bnoticed now transmission sliped
i just put tranny fluid back to normal level. drove it
and slips
but is fine in 3rd gear
1st 2nd 3rd gear work fine but when put in D it slips
the cooler line is not fixed yet
would a leak in the line cause slippage?
Thanks

Unfortunatly he probably burned the forward clutch . When your in 3(d) The overun clutch is on which will support the forward clutches. The low fluild probably caused this.
