Default jw bellhousing for th400 to chevy

Well I thought that I was almost done with my d*mn tranny swap and then my god forsaken bellhousing broke on the top right side... I eventually wanted to go with a jw bellhousing anyways but fate is making me do it now.. I'm just kind of needing the part number and the best place to get it through... Also, I was reading earlier through search that there is something that you have to do with the top bolts but was kind of uncertain.. If someone could help I would really appreciate it... I'm about to pull every hair out of my head at this moment...

Man that SUCKS, hope you can get it all repaired quickly. You'll have to machine your TH400's "bell housing" off right?

How much will that be and do you need to gut the tranny then???

No actually you can do it yourself... I talked to Kp and he did it himself with a sawzall... It just bolts to the front pump... I don't think that it's going to be too hard... I'll post some pics up when I do it... They are like $244 or something like that from Jegs... I wanted to do it eventually anyways but god wanted me to do it now... =) thanks Jer, it definitely does suck... I was so psyched to get it in finally but you know how that goes... I feel like a virgin on prom night... So close but you can't say that it's in until it actually happens... =)

Don't worry my TH400 conversion and 10 bolt to Moser 9 hasn't gone smoothly either.

But its getting closer. Keep us posted....BTW do you have pics of where you trimmed your TH400 "ears" off...I've read it but can't seem to find a pic of it.

My tranny already came with them trimmed but I can tell you where to do it... I'll take some pics when I go to work on it again and show you where they were trimmed...

you just have to make a big cut with a sawzaw and grind down the rest. Just keep fitting it to see where you need to grind more.

You will need to grind the ultrabell like this

To clear these rear valley cover bolts

Cut your trans like this to make it fit on

So do you just mock it up there to get the impressions and then take it off to grind them out??? Thanks for the picks bro... we're going to have to run them after we get them done.... Are those your pics??? That flexplate looks awful familiar... =)

Yeah those are mine, I bolted only the bottom bolts on each side of the bellhousing and tapped it agianst the valley bolts so it would leave a mark. Then I just drilled and tested fitted.
