Default Clunk Noise On Down Shift

Well I have noticed this sound before and was just wondering if my thoughts were right. When your slowing down coming to a stop it as if the trans is dwon shifting and resetting the gears I hear a clunk/tin snapping kind of sound. Now I have not looked into to this yet but my thoughts are either slip yoke or differential is devolping some play which Iam hearing. Now I will tell you the trans was just rebuilt with all good parts inside. But I did hear this before the rebuild it just seems more pronounced now and alot more it seems now that I have had the tune slightly tweaked to take out torque managment and what not. Just wondering if my thoughts are correct or am I just being paranoid and this is a normal condition.

What your probably hearing and feeling is drive train slop which all cars have to varying degrees during the downshift. Wide bands and larger servo tend to exasperate this noise. There is probably nothing wrong

Mine turned out to be a loose tial shaft housing. I'd start checking that stuff out, as well as the torque arm mount. Mine came loose and the torque arm would bang around on the downshift.

Well its definatley a snap noise from driveshaft or rear pinion. But It did it before even when she first got. It just seems more pronounced now the the trans is not slipping and has been built. Well find out I guess, if the rearend brakes hello built 12bolt
