On the RPMS...it didn't seem out of norm. At the time, the tach wasn't working. I have that working now.

ULtimately, I need to find someone when I get it back from teh trans shop that can hook to the computer and check it out for me.

I have an idea about my problem.

While building teh car, I had spoken with my harness maker, discussing harness and computer. I indicated to him that Ihad a 2004 Corvette LS1, and a 4L60e transmission. No discussion, or questions from him, about year of transmission.

I asked his recommendation for a PCM. He suggested a Camaro one, and gave me the number 12200411, which is what I purchased.

I have since learned that the tranny I purchased is for a 2005 GM Truck. I purchased it new with the new engine. I didn't ask or wasn't told the year of the tranny at time of purchase.

So here is my question: Would that be the wrong PCM to use with that transmission?

I do beleave the 2004 and the 2005 use the same PCM (sorry) I do know in any case the wiring to the trans for the two years is the same so it should work reguardless if the PCM is making the command. Try this to help narrow it down , Unplug the harness from the trans and drive. and watch your RPM at a fixed speed. Of course before you unplug he harness do the same at a fixed speed and compare, If the trans appears to be in 3rd with the harness unpluged then its likey you are dealing with some electrical or tuning issue. I am assuming the speedo is working etc.

Thanks for your reply. Although, I'm thinking that my question was to vague.

The question is this: I have a PCM that is for up to 2002 installed. The Tranny is a 2005. Will that 2002 PCM work if programmed and wired correctly?

Well, I got it back. Everything checked out wiring wise, and PCM wise. He was just skittish about the shifting, given the problems it had been through.

Apparently the original transmission was just bad. Third and Forth clutches were out. Couldn't find any reason for it.

The place I purchased the tranny from furnished a new one.

Thanks. It was a wierd deal. I'm glad I purchased the stuff at Dahmer Powertrain. They took care of me. At first I was afraid it would be the computer, and so did the tranny shop, and Dahmer. Turned out to be a freaky thing.
