Default converter issues

I didn't read all of this thread but thought I would bring this up ! If you are takeing out a manual trans and installing an automatic in any thing you need to remove the pilot bearing/bushing . It could cause problems if still in the crank !!!

Can you see if the TC is rubbing on something or if the TC pilot went into the crank properly? If there is alot of paint on the pilot of the TC it could get a little snug and hard to turn once you get it in the crank...

nope just doing a converter change. i'm gettin mad wishing i had spent the money for a shop to do this

converter spun freely when i had trans on. trans was like a flathead screwdriver apart from block. then i tighten all the bolts trans came snug on motor.now the TC is a lil harder to turn over.but there is still ascrewdrivers lengthbetween converter and flexplate. SO am i good to put this thing together???

Chris, the whole issue here is the converter to pump. Not necessarily how easy the converter is to rotate with the tranny bolted to the engine, prior to installing the converter bolts.

I would say you are good to go.

Ditto!

since the TC pilot is now set in the crank, it will be slightly harder to spin. If it's not binding, I think your good to go..

i'm puttin everything back together tommorow. i guess if i hear weird noises i fucked up lol. fingers crossed. but i'm pretty sure everything is a-OK
