Default TH400 and TQ Management
Quick question, will TQ management have any effect if I have a TH400? Is TQ management based on RPMs and delivered TQ or feedback from the tranny?

hmmm good question i would say the a4 cars are based on when the pcm gives the signal to shift it also cuts timing but this is only a guess

TQ management wont effect a TH400 because you wont have it when you put a TH400 in your car. You gotta delete all the A4 stuff from the PCM if you're swapping from an A4 to TH400 so that will also kill any Tq management you would have had. If you dont delete all your A4 stuff from your PCM you will have problems running a TH400 as the computer will still think there is a computer controlled tranny there and it will run like crap.

Hmm.. It's been running pretty good so far... I've turned off codes all the codes relating to the tranny. People talk about deleting stuff but I don't really see any way to do that. Can you elaborate a little on deleting the A4 stuff? Thanks

I heard that you could get M6 comp.... or yes you can take it off with LS1edit. or take it to a shop and have them do it. just wondering, is your TH400 a reverse man. valve body?

Yah i just meant turning off all the A4 stuff with LS1Edit. If you did that then you should be fine. TQ management wont work with a TH400

Yep, it's a reverse manual valve body. I think the M6 change requires a complete new flash into the PCM.. I'm going to zero out the required tables for TQ management just to see if it makes a difference (as soon as I get the car back.)
