Poll: What broke your transmission?
Poll: What broke your transmission? For all of you out there that have broken your transmission, what was the main culprit? I've built and swapped many (too many) 4L60E, 4L65E, and 4L80E's and there only seems to typically be just a few reasons for the transmission breaking. Now, keep in mind that we're just talking about the main reason, not the intricate details of the break. For instance, if you melted the 3-4 clutch packs and that in turn sent debris into your converter, the culprit is heat, not the fact that debris got into the converter. So, post it up. If you want, I'm sure everybody else would like to hear the circumstances of your broken tranny so they can compare it to how their's broke.

Stock one lost 3rd on up and the Stage IV Rock on trans did the same thing. So, whatever the culprit of that was.
