Default Rev Limitier

So I was on my way to work this morning and when I found out that the off ramp for my exit was closed after sitting in traffic for about 15 minutes. I proceded to merge back off the exit ramp onto the road. There was plenty of room, but being a chance to got WOT, I did. At the top of first I think the car thwacked the rev Limitier, but the rear end got swirly at the same time . So the questions stands, if the rear end broke loose, could the car thwack the rev limiter, or is my tranmission slipping. I did a series of wot pulls on the highway, none of them from a dig obviously, and detected no slipping or anything but firm crisp shifts. 4l60e 95 lt1 btw.

Your tires breaking loose could indeed cause that if you were close to the rev limiter.

I have done this a few times myself. your trans is probbly ok, your spinning the tires is what made you hit the rev limiter.

+3. It doesn't sound like anything to worry about since you found some marks on the street.
