slipping?

Hey,
I've been having this wierd issue with my tranny. I'll be driving down the freeway 60-70 and out of nowhere it seems the converter lets go... as if I was driving a m6 and pushed the clutch half way down - If I floor it it will get into gear just fine and bite good, or if would throw it in nuetral then back into D it would seem to work ok. My tranny fluid is nice and pink, smells not much different than atf from a quart...
Now, when I had a broken pushrod and my car was running on 7 cylinders it would never do the above... after I fixed my misfire the above description came right back... now I bent another pushrod (
) and it doesnt "slip" anymore...
I am just lost at this point... I know that slight misfires will make the cpu unlock the converter... but when my car is really misfiring it seems to work ok...
Anyone heard of an issue like this before?

You really need to hook up a scanner and see what the PCM is comanding as far as lockupis concerned and the actual gear comanded
