How to check the clamping force of pressureplate?

How to check the clamping force of pressureplate? I'm curious if there is a tool, a place a i can take it etc to see how much actual clamping force my pressure plate has. I'm thinking its rather low. I'd like to check it. I see how these manufacturers say whatever % more clamping pressure. How do you measure it??? Please help
