Default 2002 and torque management w/ stall

A friend of mine has a 2002 Z28 A4 and he wants to get a Vig 2800 stall converter. I told him to check into removing the torq management. He doesn't have a PC so he doesn't know where to check; therefore, I am doing it for him. I know certain year Ls1s had this issue. Do the 2002s have torque management issues with stall converters? I told him he may want to install a shift kit, trans cooler and possibly remove the TQ MG. What do you all think?

'01 and '02 years have the worst TQM. Especially with a stall, he'll want it removed. The car will feel like it falls on its face when the TQM kicks in at WOT.

agreed, delete it especially with any torque converter larger than stock, plus once he gets into modifying the engine it will not hamper him in that aspect either.

My 02 really fell on it's face after just headers and some intake work. (ported TB, lid, and MAF) Now I have a 3000 stall and a Predator. The difference is amazing...

I was faced with this problem a few weeks ago myself with my 3200 vig. I bought a Diablosport/Predator power programmer and it really helped my drivability and all out performance out a great deal. Tell your friend to get one. I'm sure he will be happy with it.

Will the Predator/Diablosport remove the torque management?

Yep, the predator removes it... well, if it's not gone, I sure don't notice it anymore...
