Default Bang! from under center console

So I was sitting in the line for a car wash, in park. And all of a sudden we hear a loud bang from under the center console. Car drove fine, didn't seem to have effected anything, but on the way home we didnt go any faster than 50. managed to scare the hell out of me. Car just got a new camshaft and a vig 3200 stall. Any ideas what it might have been?

If you were moving and nailed it I would say that you have a trans mount issue. Due to the fact that you had it in park I wonder if the parking pawl in side the trans was not fully engaged for some reason. Does your shifter feel ok? Is there any slop when you use it? Might be something to address.

haha, yeah, guilty as charged. i would have blamed the wash too but i was outside of it on pavement waiting to go in. so i doubt it was the car wash's fault =P

Did you feel it as well as hear it?

Could be related to the torque arm, not really sure though. I recommend a very thorough visual inspection underneath the car.

You win the what the hell is that guy talking about award today!!!
