I tried to put a hurst pistol grip in my six speed console and I just dont think it will work. If i put the shifter back so it doesnt hit the dash in park, it wont clear the back of the console when it is in low, guess I just need to get an auto console top

Thread revival.. I am now facing this exact issue. I guess that's one of the good benefits of the ratchet shifters. I have a 95 T/A with the 4L60E trans. My old A4 console was beat up pretty severely. So, I ended up buying a 6 speed manual console. I guess the ratchet shifters don't really require any modification to the console itself?

If this is on the first page when I get back to the states, I'll take a couple pics of mine and post them up. I've got the Pro Ratchet in the M6 console covered by the factory leather boot

I would like to see how some of these shifters are mounted to the floor. If anyone have any pics it would be greatly appreciated because I have the B&M rachet shifter and I'm getting ready to mount it. Just looking for a little guidence to ease the process.

I actually welded a piece of 1/16 thick sheet metal to the floor so its stronger, the floor there isnt to thick and when I tryed it the first time I could see the floor move when I was pulling back on the shifter so I beefed it up a little.

A buddy of mine and I just installed a Hurst 1/4 Stick in his car and we took some aluminum and bent it into a raised mounting pad. Bolted it to the floor and then bolted the shifter to it. Works well.

Changing gears (pun intended), have you ever seen one of these?

I really like the Hammer. Just bought a TH350 I am going to start prepping for the install. How do I get a park lockout lever on it? Want it to be track legal and all.

Those are some clean installs. I understand going with a ratchet for the track, but what are the benefits on a street driven car? Using a reverse lockout lever seems like it could get annoying using it everyday...

the quicksilver you just lift up on the handle, there is not an extra reverse lockout lever to deal with.

If anyone is interested in keeping the stock A4 shifter I was able to modify mine to work with a RMVB. I pulled the shifter and modifyed the gate so that it locks into 2nd gear then to switch to 3rd you push the button. I also welded in a stop so that after 3rd gear it won't go any farther back since I use a TH400. I love it and I didn't have to hack up my console because I still use the stock shifter. If anyone is interested and has any questions let me know.

I'm sorry, I didn't understand a word you just said because I was too busy looking at your Avatar.
