Hooking Up Tranny Cooler/stall
ok so the search button isnt working for me..."flame suit on!"
ima be doing my stall and tranny cooler this friday...and im missing some parts for the cooler since i got it on here on tech from a user... now..
i kno i need the rubber high pressure lines...and i think i have the rite idea on how to hook it up..
im not going to by pass the stock cooler..so wheres what i was thinking..
have the tranny coolant line run to the top like normal.. and the on the bottom put a brass fiting so that i can clam a hose on it and run it to tranny cooler.. then have the tranny cooler hose come back and clamp it to the return line.. is this how it should work? or is there a better way? i had a write up but lost it, and cant get the search to work...
also if the way im thinking is correct..what size fittings do i need? ive seen them at the auto parts store, and orchard supply...but dont kno what diameter i need...
one more question what size converter screws do i get? i heard i can get them at orchard supply.... or should i just go to the dealer and get new bolts there?
all infor and advise will be greatly appreciated!
thanks!

My B&M 24k cooler came with 3/8" rubber hoses and connections. My car had 5/16" return line. I had to get a Home Depot's brass 3/8"-3/8" barbed coupler to reduce the B&M's hose to the tranny hose without any leaks.

Top radiator tranny cooler hose 5/16" (metal+rubber) + brass coupler (3/8-3/8") -> 3/8" ext. tranny cooler line. Second 3/8" ext. tranny cooler line + brass coupler (3/8-3/8") + 5/16" hose -> 5/16" metal return line back to the tranny.
On 4L60E trannys the top line is a return one. Get under your car and trace it, you will see it.
I hope this makes sense. Basically, you need to reduce your 3/8 cooler lines back to 5/16". Without couplers mine leaked bad under pressure.
