Default 4L80E From Finish Line holds the power

Chuck i Know you get on these boards once and a while so i figured i would let you and others know that my car put down 1109rwhp through your level 5 4l80e. For those that dont know Chuck. He is the owner of finishline transmission. The car has a lot more in it but for now thats where im at.

Holy crap thats awesome. I would like to get a 80e but not sure on the added expense and swap, not to mention the weight. Not hijacking but really what are the limits of the stage 5 4L65-e before you HAVE TO go 80-e?

We have found that about 750rwhp is really the threshold for the cars we have tested it in. In a truck application I feel that # is about 550 rwhp. It really depends on the weight and torque of the vehicle and how it is driven. In a car that is raced with a 4l6x with good rwhp #'s you really need to have them freshened up. The 4l80e is a good upgrade for those of you that are on that threshold. We do have guys exceeding those #'s but those #'s are where I normally make the suggestion to upgrade to something stronger.
