Converter talk: will a TC from a 4L60E work on a 700R

Converter talk: will a TC from a 4L60E work on a 700R reason im asking is b.c i know that pretty much they are the same minue the elecronics that the 4L60E has , and i have a friend that is in need of a TC and i have my 4000 stall that i can give him.

Their are LS1 style and LT1 style converters for the 700R4 & 4L60E. The easiest way to tell the difference is OAH, over all height. A LT1 is 6" and a LS1 is 6.5." So what I am saying is that if you have an early 4L60E that used the LS1 style then it will interchange.

The 93 to 1997 converter will interchange with the 700r4 with the 30 spline input shaft from 1986 to 1993 . The 98 up ls1 style used in 98 camaro/firebird 5.7 and the engines 4.8 5.3 and 6.0 will not interchange with the earlier models due to greater depth and different input shaft used in those trans. Also note none of these will interchange with the V6 4L60E.
