Default Rebuild or converter issues

I called Summit and talked to the tech line for a few and we decided that the tranny is about to go. Its a 4l60E and its slipping at about 65-70 at WOT(havent tried less then WOT). I hear yall talking about the Yank? converter .
1.What is it good for and which one should I get for a daily driver with a 75 shot and original 3.42 gears( maybe soon to be 3.73 posi)
2.what do you suggest for a rebuild kit?
3.and I think I should get the corvette servo what do you think?

A converter is a great mod. A 3000 - 3600 stall would be great. Yank's website has a lot of info:

Didn't see a thing there??? Are you sure you looked around. Yank's site has a TON of great converter info.

1. You don't have 3.42 gears if they are the original gears. A4s come with 2.73s or 3.23s.

2. Alto clutches, Kolene steels, a kelvlar band, and a TransGo shift kit.

3. Don't see why that's necessary (maybe someone can enlighten me.)

The Yank SS3800 would be a great converter for you. Or you might go with the SY3500 if you're going to 3.73 gears and don't plan on going to the track very often.

i guess i should have said that this is for my truck not camaro. So yes I did have 3.42s
truck = needs different servo for a harder shift
Next question, why are they so dam high?
I do have a B&M shift improver (electric) that does kinda bump up the fluid pressure

Ahh, that's right. The truck trannys have a plastic accumulator plunger that doesn't allow for the usual washer(s) line pressure increase. In that case I guess a 'vette servo would be a big help. Besides, I think using a spacer on the accumulator only effects the 1-2 shift. Not sure but I think I remember that the server effects all shifts (someone please correct me if I'm wrong.)

You could also adjust the pressure solenoid screw a little higher (clockwise maybe 1/3 round I believe.) I'm not %100 but that might be a safer way of stiffening the shifts that electronic means (electronic means mainly stiffens part throttle shifts, btw.)

Why are Yank converters so high? You get what you pay for. They are built one at a time and have unsurpassed quality and performance.

I've got to agree with Colonel here on the high cost thing. I've never said "boy I'm glad I bought the cheaper one" but I can't tell you how many times I've heard "I should have spent the money and got the better (more costly) one the first time". You commonly DO get what you pay for if you spend the bucks on the better more well proven product. Maybe not always but more often than not.

i was actually refering to the fact that a TH350 one is about 150 starting I think. A 4L60E is over 500 starting! I know supply and demand ( im in retail) but dam! Even the ones over at Summit are about the same price! BTW I did find one that was about 260 and its a B&M I think! Im not looking for something to hold LS-1 torque and HP. Im making about 300 right now and might just up for the better one if I set a LS-1 in front of it like I want later? Thanks confuzd
