Tranny Issues... w/ 4l80e Need Help if possible.
Ok, my car has the power as it says in sig. I have tons of stuff done to the engine and tranny. But my tranny keeps having the '3rd gear clutch' replaced. That is what they damn tranny idiot keeps telling me. Now with this problem happening 10 times now, and they replaced it 9times (warranty work), they said after the 9th they will no longer warranty the tranny due to frequent replacement. Between breaking tranny lasted as low as 40miles and up to 250. But this last time its at 113mi.
Car is a 1996 Trans Am.
Engine has:
LT4 AFR ported Heads
LT4 Intake
LT4 Throttle Body
Cam
Hooker headers, hooker exhuast
Tranny:
Shift Kit
3500rpm Stall
Tranny Cooler
Some other **** done to engine but you get the point. If you need more info just ask, but please if you can help please do!!

Gotta be a 60.... never seen a 80 with that many 3rd gear issues. But hey, it could happen I suppose.
Clarify that detail please. And then also explain what help it is that you are looking for?
My recommendation would be to find another builder if they cannot get it right after a handful of tries, regardless of warrantability. Thats just an opinion though.
If it is a 4l60E, it should handle the power you are making easily if it has been built correctly. If it is a 4L80E then it should not have even been stressed out at that power level.

That is my bad. I mis typed it was 5:30 in the morning. It IS a 4l60E.
Ratchthed, i'm just looking to find out on why this could keep happening. Yea, maybe it is the idiot at the transmission place, but 10 times makes me think its somthing i've over looked while modding.
Then once I find out what is causing it, time to save and get it fixed.
