Hard shifts from 1-2 gears
My car just started shifting very harsh from 1-2 gears, it will shift so hard it will chirp the tires. I can just ease into it from a stop and it will bark the tires. The car is completly stock except for a K&N filter. The car has 116,000 on it and I've had it for 2 1/2 years with no issues. 1 thing though is the rear end sounds like a damn wolf on a full moon night. Any suggestions??
Thanks guys

Sometimes, the oil from the K&N filter can get on your MAF and will actually cause a big spike in line pressure. Go to Advance or Autozone or something and buy a bottle of MAF cleaner, it's only like $7. Even if this doesn't fix the problem, it doesn't hurt to clean your MAF.
jameos95ta - sorry for the thread highjack... hopefully we can both get some good from your thread.
With that number of miles any or all the abov is possible and likley. I would try replacing the PWM solenoid first and see whats in the pan , Fluid condition, debris, etc.
And you are likley close to needing a rebuild or replacement unit. Let me know if we can be of any help.

My K&N filter is filthy and my car makes a strange whistling/mechanical noise from under the car like an alternator spinning
I may add that it happens *only* after its been driven for a while, 10 miles more or less.

Put on a stock, unported MAF. It's easily good for 500 hp and it will perform better than any other MAF on a stock tune.
