What does a 3,000 stall feel like?
Hey guys, my biggest fear or uncertainty with getting a stall is what it feels like while driving around the city. I have a 94Z with 3.23 gears, bolt-ons. Is it rough taking off from a red light or does it yank you? Is it only when you are holding the brake that it "launches"?
Thanks for all the help!

Greg says it'll feel like stock because he drives a 4000 stall. To him, it WOULD feel stock. But when I first got my 3000, it felt WAY different from stock. I'm used to it now, but there are some situations when I notice it's there.
3000 is a small stall for an LS1 but a medium stall for an LT1.

I just installed a Vig 2800 last friday which stalls around 3200. That is just how Vig rates their stalls. Anyway, Cruiseing at around 50 mph I can tell that it runs at a higher RPM but nothing to extreme. It is alittle different to drive. Under mild excelleration the engine sings more than it used to and takes more pressure on the petal to get it moving but when you put your foot to the floor it puts the power down. If I give it 1/2 to 2/3 throttle from a stop it will burn 'em up. I havent gotten used to my stall yet since I have only had it in 3/4 days so I cant say whether or not I should have went larger, but for now I am completly satisfied.

I had a yank extreme 3600 on my SS and it wasnt nearly as dramatic as everyone said it would be. But also this is coming from a guy that was daily driving a trex, back when the cam first come out, with dumped duals. After a while I wanted to go with a 4k+ stall but got the z06 instead. Everybodys has different tolerances but I have seen most of my freinds wanting a higher stall after a while and I was no exception.

It isn't hard to break the tires loose but if the street is dry you can keep traction. I just have a heavy foot and I should probabley grow up alittle bit but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Until then I will keep a high tire and gas bill.

i have a 3000 and i can tell a world of difference from stock... the rpms rev higher when you get on it, and i just came from stock tranny/stock stall to the 3000/built trans, and it is a totally different car!
