4l80e with classic gauges (flexible shaft driven)
Some of you may know my 68 Impala project.
I bought a 12 bolt posi with 3,08:1, a Vortec 496 and a 4l80E.
Now my problem:
I want to use the original gauges by all means but it is driven with a flexible shaft by the transmission just like to find on every TH350 or TH400.
What can I do to connect the 4l80E with the classic gauges.
I have been told that it is possible by the 4l60E by changing the part in the tranny who send the signal to the gauges. If works by the 4l60E it should also be possible with the 4l80E, right.
Please answer to bow-tie@gmx.at
Thanks and best regards

you need either the "cable X" device or a new tailhousing and mech speedo kit. I think the cable x is less expensive, but if you do some checking you may be able to find some other less expensive options.......
Both options and more info can be found at http://www.transmissioncenter.net/sp...n_______va.htm
good luck!!!
