Let me bring you up to speed first of all. I am doing a t56 to 400 swap. I bought a flexplate from a guy on here and I went to install it, and I notice that the dowel on the crank does not fit in the holes on the flex plate. The flex plate hole where the dowel goes is threaded

Also it is a Callies crank that it is being bolted to , not a stock ls1 crank. Does that make a difference? Does the flex plate not need a dowel? Also do you think I need a different flex plate? It has a spacer for the 400.

what kind of flexplate is it? if it's not an sfi apporved one, I'd suggest getting one. Hughes makes a nice one that's not too expensive and works good... I've had one in my car for a year now and it's been fine.

 

My meziere has a provision for a dowel pin off of the crank... Maybe you should check them out.. Definitely one of the nicer ones out there...

 

I think it is just a 98 flexplate, which i am told are stronger. Where do I find the Hughes flexplate?

 

do a search for huges racing transmissions on google. Eastside is a Hughes dealer, you can call them and they could order it for you as well if need be.

 

Oh, the meziere is an awesome piece too, but I'm pretty sure it's alot more $ then the hughes is though.

 

I used a TCI bought i have a stock crank,not sure if it will work with a dowel
