not only will you break something but your factoring in more human error where the pcm shifting eliminates that

somebody mentioned from a roll? this is a good question cause' I was told if I were going 35mph or slower to drop it down to first cause' the tranny will stay in the gear it's unless you do so? which sort of make sense seeing that I have not faired well in roll racing and my car never seems to get the "good jump" unless I drop it down? any truth to this or is another myth?

I run it in OD from digs and low rolls, I did a 40 roll three times with and manually shifted twice and left it in OD for one run and the car fared better shifting itself but it took a second to downshift once I hit it so that lost me a little ground.

Just get a stall and better gears.

With a programmer, you can have the computer shift however you want, do it faster and more accurately then you can, and make you a grilled cheese sandwich while it's doing it.

At the dragstrip, you can leave it it OD or put it in D if you don't want the computer to shift into OD at the end of the track when you let off the gas. Either way, get a programmer and a stall, put it in Drive and forget about it.
