i would delete tm completly, you got a bad *** stall now, why hinder it. i wouldnt as for wot shift tables, youll probally have to play with the tables to get it to shift where you want (i.e., i wanted mine to shift at 6000rpm, its set at 6100 to get this)

thanks for the input but do you have to set each shift? and do you have to set it 100rpm higher to shift where you want it?

A seriously doubt a stock trans will take 6100+ shifts for very long. Of course, it does depend how often you actually wind it out that far.

Just be aware; there are limitations and trade-offs for pushing your stock equipment.

Shift points should be set based on your peak power. 6800 is way too high for a stock internal car.

I have the same convertor in a stock internal car with all the boltons and I shift mine at 6,100 ( 1st to 2nd) , 6200 (2nd to 3rd) , and the shift point set high to prevent from going in fourth gear at the track. This has worked very well for me. See sig for mods on the car. You do not want to shift the car at 6,800 for a stock car if that is what you have.

so 6100 it is but should I set it for 6100 at every shift for longevity? and delete all TM or leave some?

What are your mods? Where is your peak power? I have a stock internal car like kent but shift mine at 6450.

Why do you shift yours so high? Is your track time better at this shift point than a lower shift?

Yes, I would delete TM. Matt D is right about setting your shift points at peak power based on a dyno. However, you can to the track and play with shifts one at a time for best track results. Whatever works for you. I have no local dyno to determine my peak power so I play the other way.

My car made peak power at 6200, so I shift it at 6450. Yes, it is better at this shift point.

There is a very good reason to shift at as high an RPM as possible!

High RPM's = faster wheel speeds = better e.t. and MPH!

That is the exact reason the Pro Stock guys shift at 10,000 to 10,500 rpm's.

Obviously you can't shift above the engines capabilities, but the higher the better.

Like I said, it all depends on your peak power. I have seen stock intenal LS1s make peak power at 5800 and others like mine make it at 6200, with only a few mods different between the two. I can't say for sure with your car because I have not seen a dyno graph. I would change it to 6200 to play it safe. I have a Stage 4 FLT 4l60e in my car and know I could spin it to 7500 without a problem. My valvetrain would float before the trans made a hiccup.

im saying you might have to play with the shift timing in order to get what you want, like on the stock tune and a stall, the points were set at 6k but it would actually shift at 5800 so i had to set it to 6100 for it to shift at 6k.

a4's dont like high rpms. id just make the car shift at 6k. just data log a run at the strip to see what rpm its shifting at exactly.
