Any place to put tranny temp besides drilling pan??
I was just wondering if there was any other place to put the temp sensor besides drill the pan any help would be great thanks.
I think autometer makes a "manifold" that will go inline with the tranny cooler lines and let you put it there. Check their website...I think it was from them. (you just cut the line, splice in a block with a threaded hole for the sensor). GOod luck!
I put mine in the trans fill hole.
The sensor that autometer supplied screwed right in.
The temp with the stock trans was the same as my 2002 C5
(which comes with a trans temp),
so I think its close. It dropped 30 degrees when I added a 24,000 gvw B&M plate cooler.
good luck

I've been looking into putting a gauge in at the same time as my converter. I was wondering if you guys are running the electric or mechanical gauge. Also, for the autometer manifold kit, does anyone know what size our trans lines are?
Jeff,
I'd grab a mic and head to the garage, but I have an M6 car (makes it tough to measure). You may grab an adjustable wrench, adjust it until it fits snugly on the line (try to stay away from a bend, it will give an incorrect reading) and then measure the gap in the wrench (or just try regular wrenches), it should be easy to check that way. Just my thoughts, good luck!
