Default 4L60E Fluid Leak, Torque Arm Bushing, and Fluid Level Questions

Quick question... tailshaft on the 4L60E is leaking where the driveshaft slides into the trans. Ive read it could be the seal there, or a seal in the slide/slip yoke of the driveshaft. Anyone have the part number for the seal back there???

Also... Ive noticed in the past that fluid level in the trans has a VERY large impact on how the transmission responds. I dont have a stock trans, it's a Yank Sportsman Pro w/ Vacuum Line Pressure regulator. I remember when it first went in... went to stall it up... nothing happend and I lost 3 and 4... till I put more fluid in. Talked to Yank and they said the tail shaft filled with fluid and thats what causes that to happen.

Reason I'm posting... Lately it seems like the car doesnt want to roll forward on a level surface in drive with no throttle applied. It also seems like the shifts are not as hard, and there is some lag to them also. Could this be an effect of low fluid level in the transmission? I have been watching the fluid level for a couple of weeks, and it appears to not have changed at all. Now I know I have a decent leak coming from the tailshaft... is the fluid leaking out of the tailshaft, and the fluid level when checked not reflecting lost fluid out of the tailshaft??? Or is it something else????

Also... I have a hell of a vibration in third gear on a locked converter. Anyone have any idea on that????

And as for the Torque Arm mount... those damn rivets have gotten the best of me. would it be easier to yank the tailshaft off the trans to get that replaced... or keep at it with a hammer and chisel....

Well, I'll tackle the first question. It's not all that uncommon for the tailshaft seal to leak. I've had to replace one. Any GM dealer would be able to get one, the part number I used was 24204540.

For the rivets, try a drill. Then hammer and chisel to finish them off. You can take half off, which makes it much easier to do out of the car.

Something else I noticed today.. from a 50 - 55 mph downshift into second from fourth, it slips a bit. Could that be the filter is clogged up and needs to be replaced?
