4L60E little help please!
Is there a way or how would you check too tell if the tranny not shifting is electrical or not?What I mean by this is it changes good from 1st too 2nd. but wont change into third and the oil is at the full mark still has it's color and it don't have the burnt smell.Any ideas's?

Well it could be a few things. You can check the 2-3 valve train if it's stuck. There is no spring there so it's not going to push back. Take it out and put it back. You can swap the 1-2 and 2-3 shift solenoids. See if it shifts the same. The solenoids are identical. 1-2 has a spring so don't loose anything if the springs pushes some valves out.
You can also check 2nd apply piston seals for damage.
The above two things I can explain how to do, they're pretty simple.
Other then that this is the stuff you can't really do without knowing your way around the trans.
- accumulator valve

- 3rd accumulator retainer and ball assembly not seating

Thanks for the help and yes I wish you would tell me I am mechanically inclined but this new computer stuff gives me brain farts.I like the speed of the new cars but prefer to work on older.Looks like I need to buy the helms repair manual also?But if you will help I would appreciate it a great deal.
