Angry Possable tranny vibration.

I had a vibration 50mph+ after running slicks. I pulled the driveshaft took it to a local driveshaft shop it was twisted. I had them retube it got it back, had a worse vibration, they grinded my front yoke to fit the u-jount and took too much metal off and now it moved side to side, took it back. They fixed it and tried to charge me, long story short i didn't pay. Got it back in and STILL have a vibration bad enough to crack a tail housing at high speeds. Question has anybody had this kind of vibration from a 4l60e shifts good up&down doesn't slip or make noise nothing just vibrates. I still suspect the driveshaft. He balanced it with a flat washer

Begin by putting the rear wheels up on jackstands and running it wheels up. Let it idle in any forward gear. Watch the driveshaft to see if there is something obvious.

I am very certain that you need a different driveshaft shop. I would never let a shop grind on a yoke as the likelyhood of them getting it right is very slim. Not sure what they were thinking on that one! Why not get the correct part in the 1st place?

Make sure to get a steel tube as it will be much more durable in the long run if you are running stickies!

I ran the car on jack stands and the back section of the driveshaft at the rear end wobbles about 1/8 to 1/4 inch could my pinion yoke be twisted or bent? Has anybody twisted one? I'm running a 10-bolt with 3.73 gears.

OK we have just totally................We have decided to suspend parts sales. Basically undermanned to do it. Not only that but the constant tech calls that come with it. Most of which are not our customers to begin with which takes us away from our work. I wish I had time to do it, but building transmissions is what I do for a living or at least that is what they pay me to do! I hope you understand. Vince
