wow...1 bolt killed my tranny....pissed!
well here is the story. bout 9 months ago my stock tranny blew up, then about a month later i had a century racing tranny put in...cost about 2 grand. well then 8 months after that the century one fell apart, so i take pan off and find a broken head bolt lying in the pan from the accumulator housing. this damn bolt not being there allowed pressure to escape and burned everything up. not really century racings fault imo but this just sucks...2 months after the warranty is up also. lol that's racing i guess.
Sorry about your misfortune. I truly hope it was a fluke. I am about to install my new Century tranny. My Pro Yank failed after 11K and 75 passes at under 350 RWHP. I'm kind of hoping I've found one (the Mike Kurtz built 4L60E) that will last. This post certainly doesnt give me a warm fuzzy feeling.
i'm having the my yank converter replaced with a vigalante 3800 and having the a bebuild kit put in the century tranny...should be good as new once i get it back. and hopefully this accumulator bolt won't pop.
