do TC's kill the top end?
If your car is stock, I would ask what upgrades are you planning in the future... short term and long term. Because a converter should be considered to be very combination specific. if it is stock, and going to stay stock I would say that a converter that had a stall in the 2,800 - 3,200 rpm range would be ideal for a daily driver and would yield the benfits you are looking for.
Hope that helps!

Ordinarilly not. A converter is going to allow your engine to hang in the power band, up on the power curve longer. Usually when one slows or runs out of legs on the big end it is due to the Heads cam combo or the rear axle gear. If it is a stock gear then you simply are not making enough power.
