Default lt1 tranny and ls1 tranny??? A4

are lt1 transmissions the same as a lt1 transmission? its an A4

im wondering because im i need of a tanny for my 97 trans am lt1.
i think i read somewhere that all that would need to be done is an adapter piece for the harness.

but will it all bolt up the same? and whats needed if anything?

please help.

No its not that simple. they have different bellhousing/ input shaft/pump stator. It would require either a tear down and these things changed or a special converter. Probably better off to get one that fits your car.

Thats cool you will need to find and lt1 type with a K on the bell housing non removable bell 96 and 97 best but you can adapt previous versions if needed there are some electronics and strategy isues to be addressed, in previous years noting real hard though. You can find this style in camaros/ transams/ impalas and caprices in that time period.
