Call up Yank and order a Yank speedo sensor, thats what I have on my car...there is slight lag at the beginning, but then the speedo catches up right away...

bigbos, how much was that set-up?did you have to have a gear put on the output shaft on tranny?did you have to change anything with ls1 edit?i ran a few g.m parts #s for speedo gear/sensor /pigtail.speedo workes just like stock.but we had to fudge the gear ratio on ls1 edit.(basically speed sensor i used doubled speedo reading)so we played with gear ratio/tire height, now speedo is correct.about $100.00- $120.00 in parts

I forget how much the Yank sensor was, but it runs off of a gear I believe....its right on target, except for when I run my Hoosiers in the back..

I have been emailing a guy (Jim Hogan) who was one of the first guys to make this swap. He also has a Gear Vendors OD. What he told me was swapping from an A4, your speedo will be dead on. Swapping from a M6, your speedo will be 2.4 times off.
You will need a 40 tooth reluctor wheel for your tailshaft, and a VSS, which takes the place of the cable drive sensor.

I bought the yank sensor, I don't have the # but it's just a gm part from a th400 truck (1989 I think)

Just go to a dealership, and get the reluctor wheel and a speed sensor from a 93 or 94 Chevy 454 truck. I do belive those came with the 400s. If not, just go back a few years.

Hey guys hoping for some help. I am finding a lot of old threads on a turbo 400 swap. I am having problems finding parts for the vss. The part is discontinued from gm. Does anyone know another solution to run the speedo?
