Variable Pitch Converters

Variable Pitch Converters Hey Guys,
The guy that is putting together my trans wants to use a variable pitch converter in the car...supposedly the car will stall at 2000 on the street and then stall at 3000 with a flip of a switch.
Anybody else using one of these?

Re: Variable Pitch Converters Ask him if he can make it 3000 and 4000 instead. That would be ALOT more useful...elsewise you'll end up leaving the switch set to 3000 all the time.

I got the feeling that there was a limit as to how high you could go with the stall for these...is that true?

Re: Variable Pitch Converters I agree with Colonel, go higher. At least do the 2500/3500 version.
Be intersting to see if your efficencies dies on the higher stall speed; That's a pretty big spread.

Re: Variable Pitch Converters Yeah.. would be interesting to launch with the looser setting, then flip the switch to tigher for a better MPH on top end <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: Variable Pitch Converters Well, the guy is going to build both of the converters and we are going to try them both in the car to see which one we like better.
I will report back on how it goes. The thought on the 3000 was that my car makes full boost (8psi) at 3000 and that is where I am going to leave on the brake.
