Default Converter / Trans Problems

This is probably related to some tuning needed, but I thought I would ask.

First off... I am having a problem that has been occuring for a while... the trans will slip on a downshift from 3 or 4 down to second. I have yet to change the fluid / filter in this trans, and it has been occuring for about 1000 miles. I am at almost 15000 on this trans, so it is about time to do the fluid / filter anyway.

Second... Odd converter lockup issue. When I let my car idle for more than 10 seconds, it takes 1.45 miles for the converter to start locking up again.

This started after the hot cam install that was finished up on Saturday morning. I dont know if this would be related to having drilled the TB hold too big or what... but when I stop, it will idle around 1000rpm, then the computer (i am guessing its the computer, not really sure) will drop it down to about 750rpm.

Anyone have any tips or suggestions on either of these problems?

Full mod list is in the sig.

i don't know what more experienced people will say, but i would change/check the fluid level, filter.

Do you have aftermarket TC, what stall?

may be it's not your tranny,but you are just freaking out because car feels different <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> ?

ack... sorry about the sig not showing...

Anyway... the trans was slipping on a downshift to second before the cam swap. I honestly havent even gotten on it hard yet.

The converter is annoying... but it's liveable.

Scary thing is... I only used 1/8 of a tank on a Orlando -> Daytona drive where as it used 1/4 tank on a stock cam.

Are you getting misfires at idle with the hotcam? Once you have misfires, the converter will not lock untill the car has been driven for a bit and the misfires clear. Deleting the misfire code or raising your idle speed will probably take care of that.

Well... I havent gotten an SES light yet... I have raised the idle, but it also needs to be done in the computer, which is why it drops down.

I'll run out and check for pending misfire codes.
