Default Shifting problem from 2-3

Just got my car back from the shop, and was breaking in my new motor, everything was fine until about 530 miles in the rain, my 3 gear did not kick in, felt as if it went to nuetral. I pulled over and turned the car off. Turned it on and put it on od and all gears kicked in, then after a few lights it did it again. I had 1-2 and then 3 became N. Turned it off and turned it on again and then had all gears 1-2 2-3 after a little driving , again, no 3rd. Anyone know what could be happenning? It was also raining during this time and my Alt got wet. Anyone have an idea what could be the problem? Just had the tranny built about 4 months ago.

i'm ditching the yank for a VIG 3800 stall. i'm adding a temp gauge, a huge tranny cooler, and quite possiby a larger tranny pan. gonna keep this new tranny colder then it wants to be. that's the reason they break with the larger converters. they just heat up too much. i have a B&M cooler right now but its not cutting it i guess. good luck.
