Default question with my shifter 4L60E

hey yalls im puttin in my mega shifter and i just got my short stick (2" shorter then the normal auto stick) the gate adapter (3spd to 4spd auto) got most everything i need. but on the factory shifter on the right side there is a module that tells the tranna if its in part or gear. can i leave that in the park position so that it will start or will that mess anything up in the computer? cuz B&M does not make a plug in module for that to go on the aftermarket shifters. sorry for the dumb question but id rather ask it now then find out i was wrong later. thanks

im running a 4L60E. i was told that the switch on the right side of the stock shifter (has 6 tabs i believe) tells the computer that the car is in park, reverse, overdrive or drive. so i would have problems with the transmission upping the line pressure in lower gears and the lock up converter locking up if i leave it in park.

Yes you will indeed need that to work for the transmission to work properly
