Thanks to all of the help you guys have givin me, I have my t.c coming. I ordered the 3000 and help w/ cooling. Which will be better, a deep pan, or a cooler. Also, I have a ftra, so how would I mount a cooler, where would it go, and how does it mount?

ide do both the pan and the cooler. As far as the ftra goes. i mounted my cooler inbetween the frame and the ftra. its a tight tight fit but it works.its off the body about one inch so it gets air on both sides and the radiator is free flowing except for the ftra.

you dont need the deep pan, just a cooler. F-bodies are too low slung and lower the absolute bottom of the car. Plus the pumps in these transmissions are very efficient contrary to those of 200 and 700R4s which have inefficient pumps and see great benefit from the added volume. Personally I just recommend the cooler and since you have a fast toys, mount the cooler parallel to the ground in front of the lower air damn and behind the front spoiler. Best of luck.

A cooler is plenty with a 3000 stall. 19k GVW B&M supercooler or similar plate type cooler is all you need.

extra protection...do both. 24k cooler and a very deep pan that holds 3qts. more than stock. trans temps will stay nice and cool.

To NXtC: I saw that you were recommending mounting the cooler parallel to the ground in front of the lower air damn and behind the front spoiler if you had a FTRA. Can you explain a little more because Im confused and I cant quite figure or picture that. How well does it peform in that location? How did you come up with that spot? Im in the same boat, I dont want to have to remove the ram air kit, but I do want to be able to run it and the cooler with no problems whatsoever. I plan to buy the 28k GVW, but if thats gonna be to big to play with, (putting it in different locations) then I will just go with a 24k GVW. Lastly, I will be running a 200-R4, these trannys have problems according to you, but running a deep pan can cause me some clearance issues correct? I dont want to rip that thing off one day going over something cause that would really suck. The guy who is building my tranny say just to overfill it a quart and it fixes the problem unless youre running really fast. I want to run one too but Im afraid that Im going to have problems with it. Thanks and I appreciate the help.

my headers hang lower than my b&m deep pan. But with a 3000 stall either one would be fine. No need to to both with that small of a stall, but if you want the best safety possible do both.

reason I got the deep pan was because I have my cooler parallel with the ground behind the air damn(have a little hole cut in air damn so it gets air).

If you have LT headers the deep pan is about the same level as them

To 98TAauto: How many inches deeper is it than the stock pan? You seem to have done the same thing as NXtC was suggesting on the mounting location of the cooler. Can you explain more on where and how you put the cooler. I dont quite understand about the hole in the air damn. I have the FTRA and he was suggesting that I do something similar to what you were doing. Thanks

its not the best spot, but I was pressed for space LMAO. Thats why i did the trans pan also cause I know this isnt getting the best air. Ignore the bugs on the air damn also
